Grease Trap Cleaning

Grease traps require periodic cleaning to maintain their ability to function properly. Municipalities in metro Atlanta mandate a regular cleaning frequency which is based on several factors including size of the grease trap, measured thickness of the grease and sludge inside of the trap, type of food service establishment, the volume of food produced, seating capacity and quantity of wastewater producing fixtures (dishwasher, multi-bay sinks, mop sinks) discharged into the trap. As part of compliance, all wastewater removed from a grease trap must be recorded on a state certified document or “manifest” showing its place of origin, volume removed, licensed transporter name and final disposal destination.
